Internship Program
New Shepherd Films began in 2009 and released it's first film, FOOTPRINTS, to theaters in 2011 and DVD in 2012. Two novels from that film have also been published and are available in print and e-books. Today, New Shepherd Films is producing its second feature film, FORGOTTEN HEROES, its first documentary "The Robert Hartsock Story", its third book, has two more feature films in development along with novels from both. New Shepherd Films has also established New Shepherd Entertainment as an outlet to help other indie producers reach consumers. With offices on both coasts (Massachusetts and Oregon), New Shepherd Films realizes the key to success is the quality of the story and the people who tell it. About The Program
New Shepherd Films offers an exciting Internship Program providing students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to gain hands–on experience working in the entertainment industry. At New Shepherd Films, every intern has the opportunity to learn first-hand how this industry works and play an integral role in the company’s success.
Eligibility Requirements
Internships at New Shepherd Films are open to all:

Collegiate Undergraduate and Graduate (MBA, MFA) students currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution.

Collegiate Undergraduate students should be going into their junior or senior year. Waivers of this requirement are considered on a case-by-case basis and will be granted based on experience, ability, and the personal interview.

Graduate students must have completed their first year.

We will consider high school students but the standards remain the same as though for the college-level students.
Initial Qualifications
Hiring decisions are based on your major field of study, past work / internship experience, and any extracurricular activities. Ideal candidates will be organized, hardworking, self motivated, and enthusiastic. All interns will be supervised and evaluated in accordance with their school’s policies. Basic understanding of the film industry and production process is expected. Where needed by the position, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Vegas Pro, and/or Adobe Photoshop is preferred though we will consider teaching these tools to the successful applicant.
Compensation
Internship positions are unpaid. Credit will be given in the rolling credits (the crawl), all marketing and press releases (as appropriate), IMDb, our websites, and any other applicable industry resource. Other benefits including work experience, academic credit (subject to your school), and professional reference/referral will be provided upon successful completion of the program. Other compensations / benefits will be offered as they become available.
